Natural disasters and economic policy challenges

چکیده
Abstract The frequency of and magnitudes natural disasters associated with exogenous variation climate vary between areas. Household, business government decisions on location investment influence the private society costs disasters. Government economic policy towards face a challenging trade‐off short term equity long efficiency objectives. Additional financial grants subsidies for those adversely affected by disaster event reasons also reduce longer sector incentives rewards to locate less disaster‐prone areas invest in mitigation strategies.
